Fully Diluted Valuation
Fully Diluted Valuation (FDV) = Current Price x Total Supply
Fully Diluted Valuation (FDV) is the theoretical market capitalization of a coin if the entirety of its supply is in circulation, based on its current market price. The FDV value is theoretical as increasing the circulating supply of a coin may impact its market price. Also depending on the tokenomics, emission schedule or lock-up period of a coin's supply, it may take a significant time before its entire supply is released into circulation. About TRON (TRX)
TRON is a decentralized blockchain-based operating system designed to accelerate the decentralization of the internet and its underlying infrastructure.
-
The platform serves as a global settlement layer for stablecoins (digital assets pegged to a steady value like the US Dollar) and everyday digital purchases.
-
It provides a high-throughput environment, a measure of how many transactions a network can process in a specific timeframe, to support large-scale decentralized applications.
-
The network is governed by a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO), a community-led entity that manages the protocol without a central authority.
What Is TRON
TRON functions as a smart contract platform (a system that executes self-coding contracts when conditions are met) that enables the creation and use of decentralized applications. Value moves through the system via its native utility token, TRX, which facilitates transactions and grants users access to network resources.
The TRX token is put to work through a staking mechanism where holders lock their TRX to gain "TRON Power," which is used for governance (the process of voting on network rules and upgrades). As the ecosystem grows, the network uses a resource model consisting of bandwidth and energy to process transactions, allowing for high volume without the traditional fee spikes seen on other networks.
What Makes TRON Unique
-
Resource Model: Unlike networks that use gas for every action, TRON uses bandwidth and energy, which allows users to perform a certain number of transactions for free or at very low cost.
-
Stablecoin Dominance: The network is a leading host for TRC20-USDT, making it one of the most widely used blockchains for global dollar-based settlements.
-
Scalability: The protocol is built for high throughput, aiming to handle more transactions per second than many established legacy blockchains.
-
Global Settlement Focus: While originally centered on content creators, the platform now functions as a global settlement layer for everyday digital purchases and decentralized finance.
What Can You Use TRX for?
-
Global Payments: Use TRX for instant, low-cost transfers and purchases both within and outside the ecosystem.
-
Staking and Voting: Lock TRX to participate in the election of Super Representatives and earn rewards for securing the network.
-
Decentralized Finance (DeFi): Access lending, borrowing, and exchange services through integrated platforms like JustLend DAO and SunSwap.
-
Decentralized Storage: Interact with the BitTorrent File System (BTFS) for distributed data storage.
How Does TRON Work?
TRON operates using a Delegated Proof of Stake (DPoS) consensus mechanism, a method where token holders vote for a limited number of delegates to verify transactions. In this system, 27 "Super Representatives" are elected every six hours to maintain the ledger and produce blocks.
This structure allows the network to achieve high throughput and fast finality (the point at which a transaction cannot be altered or canceled). The system is also compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), allowing developers to easily move applications from other networks to TRON.
Team Info and Investors
TRON was established by the TRON Foundation, led by founder Justin Sun. The project completed a significant initial funding round in 2017 before transitioning to a DAO structure. The ecosystem has established strategic partnerships with major global entities, including Samsung, which integrated TRON into its blockchain keystore, as well as BitTorrent, Opera, and Swisscom Blockchain.
