What is Supra about?

Supra is the first chain built for Automatic DeFi, or AutoFi; a novel self-operating automated financial system built on its Layer-1 blockchain with built-in high-speed smart contracts, native price oracles, on-chain automation and cross-chain messaging. It unlocks all-new Automatic DeFi primitives that can generate fair recurring protocol revenue and redistribute it across the ecosystem, reducing reliance on inflationary block rewards entirely over time. This also creates a powerful framework for specialized crypto AI Agents across a wide variety of DeFi use cases.

What makes Supra unique?

Supra is a Layer-1 blockchain that natively integrates real-time price oracles, verifiable randomness (dVRF), cross-chain messaging and on-chain automation into its core consensus. This full vertical integration is needed for their unique AutoFi framework that automates DeFi actions—liquidations, arbitrage, lending, rebalancing and more. This AutoFi framework aims to turn MEV into fair protocol revenue and redistribute it across all stakeholders to create a self-funding, anti-inflationary ecosystem. MultiVM compatibility (EVM, Move, Solana, CosmWasm) lets existing smart contracts deploy unchanged and leverage all built-in services.

History of your Supra

Supra Labs began in late 2017, and introduced the SupraOracles protocol in 2020; a cross-chain price-feed network with Layer-1 security guarantees.

While Supra refined its oracle and randomness services through several testnets and partnerships, they were always building Supra into a Layer-1 in parallel. The protocol officially rebranded to Supra in 2023 with an expansion to the full-stack MoveVM Layer-1 with high throughput performance, native oracles, and native dVRF services which they are today.

They held their token generation event in November 2024 — officially launching the Supra Layer-1 mainnet with native oracles, randomness, and MoveVM smart contract platform from day one, and the vision to further integrate MultiVM support (EVM, Move, Solana, CosmWasm), system-level automation, and native cross-chain communication.

In April 2025, Supra launched system-level automation on public testnet, introducing first ever built-in execution of automated transactions in crypto, all fully onchain. This lays the groundwork for AutoFi primitives that capture protocol revenue from liquidations, arbitrage, lending and more. These updates power a self-funding, anti-inflationary ecosystem and lay the groundwork for future primitives like automated lending, liquidity provision and dynamic risk management.

Also in April 2025, Supra also released SupraNova, their bridgeless cross-chain communication protocol, on public testnet. This protocol natively verifies external-chain consensus on Supra Layer-1 to deliver truly bridgeless cross-chain communication.

What's next for Supra?

Supra will become a self-funding financial layer by expanding AutoFi to cover major DeFi activities—lending, liquidity, risk management and derivatives—so each on-chain action captures protocol revenue instead of leaking value. This revenue will drive growth, helping Supra to wean off block rewards and move towards becoming an anti-inflationary ecosystem.

With deeper cross-chain interoperability and MultiVM support across EVM, MoveVM, SolanaVM and CosmWasm, developers will be able to deploy dApps with any language on Supra, without patchwork integrations. On-chain governance will empower SUPRA token holders to adjust revenue-sharing parameters and guide protocol enhancements, ensuring aligned incentives and sustainable expansion.

What can Supra be used for?

The SUPRA token settles all Supra Layer 1 fees—gas and AutoFi task fees—and powers protocol security: validators stake SUPRA to back consensus, oracles, dVRF and automation services, earning a share of captured revenue. It will also be used in real-time AutoFi auctions, where users bid for priority execution on high-value DeFi transactions.

Beyond core operations, SUPRA enables on-chain governance—voting on upgrades and revenue-split parameters—and serves as collateral in automated lending and liquidity primitives.

Supra’s oracle price feeds and dVRF services are also integrated and used across 90+ external blockchain ecosystems, where the service users (dApps) use SUPRA to avail these services.
