What is Loyal about?

Loyal is a self-custodial agentic finance protocol built on Solana. It allows software agents to carry out routine decentralized finance work on a user's behalf while the user keeps custody of their assets and retains approval over any critical action. Its first product, Loyal Earn, deposits idle funds into established Solana lending markets and rebalances positions as rates change, so a user does not need to monitor markets or move funds manually. Loyal is distributed as a Chrome extension, an Android application and a web application, and its source code is published openly on GitHub.

What makes Loyal unique?

Agent-based finance tools generally require a user to surrender custody or grant open-ended spending approvals. Loyal takes a different approach: private keys remain with the user, and any critical action requires explicit approval, so an agent cannot send funds to a destination the user has not authorised. Policy limits can be set for agents that operate autonomously. Loyal is governed through MetaDAO futarchy, where decisions are reached through prediction markets rather than token-weighted voting, and the project treasury is held in a multisig controlled by that DAO. Protocol fees are directed back to the treasury.

History of Loyal

Loyal was built by a team based in San Francisco and conducted its initial coin offering through the MetaDAO launchpad in October 2025, over a four-day launch window. The LOYAL token began trading on Solana decentralized exchanges on 22 October 2025 following that launch. Since then the team has released a browser extension wallet on the Chrome Web Store, an Android application, and a web application, and has published periodic transparency reports covering treasury holdings and spending in its public documentation.

What's next for Loyal?

Loyal is expanding the range of financial workflows its agents can handle and the surfaces those agents run on. Planned work includes broader multisig interoperability, additional integrations with Solana lending and liquidity protocols, fiat on and off-ramp support, and tooling that lets users compose their own automated workflows rather than relying only on preset ones. Because the project is governed by MetaDAO futarchy, material decisions on treasury use and direction are put to prediction markets, so the roadmap is subject to the outcome of those markets rather than set unilaterally by the team.

Governance is conducted through MetaDAO futarchy, in which proposals are decided by prediction markets rather than by token-weighted voting, and the proceeds of the initial coin offering are held in a multisig treasury controlled by that DAO. Fees generated by the protocol are directed back to this treasury, and the DAO determines how those funds are used, including options such as funding the core team allowance, buying back and burning LOYAL, deepening liquidity, or financing grants.
